In the theater: MAMA MIA!

Okay, one of my guilty pleasures in life is the music of ABBA. I tend to love female singers in the first place, but the tunes given to the world from ABBA are so happy and upbeat. You CAN'T not love them! Of course Mrs. Bax0jayz concurs, so earlier this year she got tickets for us to the Broadway show based on music by ABBA, Mamma Mia!

Here's the idea: set on a Greek Island, the daughter of a single mother is planning her wedding. After reading the mother's diary she sees there are three possible fathers. All three are invited to the wedding. The rest is fun and the mayhem that ensues, all of which is set to the music of ABBA.

It's nostalgic hearing so many songs that you are so familiar with from the radio all in one musical. What's NOT fun is hearing all the jerks around you murmuring "That's Abba" as a new song gets started. DUH! It's a musical based on ABBA sings, dude! Wake up!

But it was a ton of fun! I highly recommend it!
