Turtle Thursday: Cayman Turtle Farm, Part 3

I asked Mrs. Bax0jayz to email me some pics I took with her dig cam a couple days ago, but she hasn't. So, I'm posting a third part to the Turtle Farm in Grand Cayman.

Boastswain's Turtle Farm is north of Grand Cayman's 7-Mile Beach. It's not a huge complex, but it's not small either. There are different levels of tours you can go on. You can just tour the actual turtle farm, which is under US$20 per person. The other tours open up other areas in the park and the highest level even includes swimming with the turtles. For the amount of things to do, you're probably best off just visiting the turtles, and get out in under an hour.

Once inside the park there are three staging areas for the turtles. The first you see is the large beach area for the adult turtles. These animals are pretty gig and impressive to see. As you follow the path to the right, you come along to the baby turtle tanks. These turtles are relatively small to the adults, but most are bigger than my largest in my tank. You are allowed to touch and play with these little guys. The next area is the adolescent section. These are significantly bigger than the babied, but much smaller than the adults.

Each section is a network of pools that look like they might be overpopulated. The woulds you see on the animals appears to be proof of my observation. If they had more room they wouldn't need to be establishing dominance and biting each other.

Other than that the environment is very clean, and the animals look healthy and well fed. I wish there was more supervision, as you never know what evil mind might stroll in.

If you are ever in Grand Cayman, the Turtle Farm is a must see!

My, are those large turtles!
However, the images seem to be really small.

It's north of the 7 Mile Beach at Grand Cayman. Definitely worthwhile to check out.
