Tops at the Box Office

I'm SO glad the masses chose to spit in the collective Shriver / Kennedy eye and went to see Tropic Thunder. The politically incorrect comedy unseated The Dark Knight, which had a run of four weeks in the #1 spot. Tropic Thunder grossed $26 mill in the opening weekend. Another new movie for the weekend was Star Wars: The Clone Wars, which got lukewarm at best reviews and only grossed $15.5 mill for it's opening weekend to take the #3 slot. The Dark Knight added another $16.8 mill over the weekend to rake in a total of over $471 mill since it opened. It's now the #2 highest grossing movie of all time, overtaking Star Wars. #1 remains Titanic. However those dollars aren't adjusted for time and inflation, in which case Star Wars would be #1 of all time at well over a BILLION in time adjusted gross dollars!
