While we were in Barbados we chose to go on one snorkeling trip. The water there is a little rough and never very clear, so spending money on several excursions there isn't really worth it. We chose one that we got to swim with the turtles, observe the shipwrecks, and chill on the beach with the softest sand you'll ever come across. The last time we went to Barbados we went on a similar trip and had a hell of a time. This time I was armed with my Olympus D-560 in an underwater case and was ready for what we may see.
In this post I'm including the only two pictures I was able to get of a hawksbill turtle. Bear in mind, these are critically endangered animals. Having had the honor of swimming in close proximity with these beautiful sea creatures twice, both times we visited Barbados, I consider myself extremely fortunate. Future generations may only be able to know these creatures from photography.

The next Turtle Thursday will be about the Green Sea Turtles we swam with. Tune in next week!

Again, you guys are so lucky! I'm a little paranoid about dying while snorkeling, but this kind of thing is worth the risk. Great shots!!
Totally worth it. Who knows if we'll have these chances for long.
