This week one day they were making a big deal about the way the MTA has "updated" the #7 trains. In case you weren't aware, the Seven Line is usually blessed with the junk trains from the entire system that's on it's way to either the scrap yards or off the shores along the east coast of the US as artificial reefs. If it's on the Seven Line, it has one foot in the grave.
They were handing out leaflets informing riders of the Seven Train that you can now easily tell if you are getting onto a local or express train. They took these rust buckets and fitted them with LEDs in one window in each car. If a red square is lit, it's an express, if it's a green circle, it's a local. And if it's a Seven Train, it's likely to have the heat on during the summer months and ready to break down any time of the year.
Indeed, great advances were made on the #7.
