In the cinema: Terminator Salvation

This is the fourth, yes fourth, Terminator movie. Most people would like to forget T3 ever happened, but that Terminatrix was friggin HAWT, so who cares? Plus it FINALLY opened the door to the battle for human existence in the future.

So I dunno where to start. I already gave away the story a couple weeks ago with my review of the book. The movie and the book are very similar with only a couple deviations, especially the ending, but I'll get to that later. What the book couldn't relay was the cool stuff that came from earlier Terminator movies. Things like:
  • Kyle Reese telling Marcus Wright: Come with me if you want to live (he said the same to Sarah Connor in T1)
  • The roped in place sawed off shotgun trick from T1 was taught to Kyle in THIS movie by Marcus.
  • John Connor saying, "I'll be back" which has been in EVERY Terminator movie, just usually the Governator says it.
  • Some loud GnR, the same as in T2.
  • The T-600 crushing a skull under foot.
  • Arnold Scharzenegger is shown as the first T-800.
  • And others, but I gotta sleep!
The movie is just under two hours and has a PG-13 rating. I'm not sure if they could've done much more with it to get an R-Rating, but I do think it could've used a couple extra minutes. Everything was fine, but I would've liked MORE! It was a lot of fun and I really liked it. I recommend seeing it before it disappears, too quickly, from the theaters. It's not exactly making box office records.

EDIT / ADDITION / SPOILERS:
I see I forgot about the different endings. On one site they say that Connor is killed and is replaced by a T-800. In the book Connor saves Marcus. The truth is that Marcus saves Connor in several ways. Marcus destroys the first T-800 after it impales Connor. Connor is dragged to a waiting gunship by Marcus. Connor is rushed to a field hospital at which they give him a heart transplant. IN THE FIELD. That was weird, but hey, it's science fiction, so I'm fine with it.

Since This movie didn't wreck the competition in the box-office, I wonder how long before another installment will be in the works.
