In the cinema: The Hangover

Last weekend the wife and I contributed to the summer comedy juggernaut known as The Hangover. Also, I did something I never do, walked into the theater with expectations.

Over the weeks all I have heard is about how hilarious this movie is. I was informed that I will walk out aching from all the hard laughs from the movie. I was told to be prepared for the funniest movie of all time. While the movie was, indeed, very funny, with such high praise I was expecting something like I've never seen before. With that sort of hype I was bound to be let down.

So I did very much enjoy this movie about a bachelor party in Vegas gone completely awry. It was funny and I had a good time. If you see it, you'll like it to. It is genuinely funny. But don't let people's words get to you. It might make the movie a let down.

Still, I recommend it and might even suggest waiting for the DVD as there most certainly will be an extended cut.

Oh, and a piece of movie trivia. The role played by Heather Graham was originally offered to Lindsay Lohan who once again showed how great she is at making decisions and turned down a role in the biggest comedy of the summer down. Nice work.
