In the cinema: Public Enemies

When Mrs. Baxojayz and I heard there was going to be a movie starring Christian Bale and Johnny Depp on opposite sides of the law, we knew we had to see it.

Johnny Depp plays the 1930s bank robber John Dillinger and Bale is Melvin Purvis, the G-Man after the big crooks. The movie is about Dillinger committing his various crimes, and Purvis going after him.

While the movie has a bunch of action scenes, there is a lot of banter and history in between. It's really a very interesting movie, but at 2.5 hours, it might be too much movie. Easily about half and hour could've been trimmed without hurting the story at all.

I would call this movie good, and the actors all make their jobs worth watching. It's just a long movie that would probably be best watched at home on your TV while sitting on your couch.
