This morning there were substantial delays on the downtown bound #6 train in NYC. They announced on the Bronx bound train that I was on that the delays were caused by a jumper at the 77th Street Station in NYC.
Sure enough there was a Brooklyn bound train that was only pulled halfway into the station with no passengers and people milling around. Looked legit to me.

Yep, I was there - the guy was wearing a business suit, jumped, was still alive under the train - could see his hands moving
That's terrible and sad to hear, but thanks for the information.
I was there as well...Did he jump or fall?
The train I was on said, "there was a jumper at 77th." I haven't seen any other news yet.
I was there as well and saw the guy underneath the train. He was definitely breathing and even moving around a bit. It would be really great to know if he made it or not - the train apparently had not run him over, but knocked him underneath.
I can't find any news on it anywhere. I guess we have to wait until tomorrow's NY Post comes out.
I was there this morning, too...it was hard to get any real concrete info about it, but I overheard someone say they saw the guy fall. This is the first place online I've found any mention of it, too - we'll see what's in the paper tomorrow...
I just asked the guy in the booth if he has any news about the incident, but he said he didnt know anything.
I was there standing about two away from him and I saw him, he was in a business suit and purposefully jumped off the platform almost as if he was leaping through open doors as if the train was there. A very horrible thing to witness and haven't been able to remove it from my mind. People did rush over to the edge of the platform asking him if he was ok. He was moving. I don't know what happend to him the paramedics were arriving as I needed to get away from the scene I had just witnessed. I hope that he is ok and gets the help that he needs.
Amybody find any mention of this anywhere? Really want to know what happened to this guy.
I checked the Post. Not a word. I didn't see anything anywhere. It's like it didn't happen, except for all the witnesses
It bothers me that there is no news of it being that I was there and witnessed him leap off the platform. It's totally haunting me.
I was there as well and can't get it out of my mind. I left before anyone noticed he was still alive. I really wish we could find out what happened to this poor man. This is the only site with any mention of the incident. My prayers go out to him.
I just read a report over on Subwayblogger.com from an eyewitness who said that not only did the jumper live, but the paramedics had him standing up on the tracks after they got the train off him! I certainly hope this poor man is going to get help, and having seen him on those tracks I am profoundly relieved he survived.
I wouldn't be surprised if the man was able to walk away from this incident. My roommate left for work around 9:15am that morning. By the time she got to the 77th St. station, she said there was no trace of any accident and/or fatality. There were no paramedics and the trains were running on schedule. If the man had been killed, the coroner would have taped off the station until an investigation had been conducted.
