On CD: ZEL: True

I grew up in a household with a guitarist, my brother. He would play all sorts of guitar music to absorb as many styles as possible to be a more well-rounded musician. So I learned what some good guitars sound like and I heard a lot on this record.

True by Zel is a new-age instrumental album with emphasis on guitars. The sounds are remarkable and enjoyable. It's pleasant and relaxing while NOT putting you to sleep. I first listened to it at home, but tried it out at work and in the car to see if the environment would change how I feel about the music. I actually liked it best at work since most of the tracks are very upbeat and fast paced. It felt calming while not slowing down my work. It's a funny thing to notice how some music hurts your productivity, and others don't. Certainly, this is perfect.

If you enjoy guitar music with an impact, True by Zel is something to look into.
