On CD: Martini Dreams by J.J. Sinatra

When this CD arrived from the Bloodhound Gang, I became immediately excited. The Bloodhound Gang are responsible for some clever music, so I figured that if they are working with J.J. Sinatra it will be well worth the time to listen.

This is a hip hop album. And a very well produced one at that. Levels are good, and the music is good. The lyrics / vocals are pretty good too. I think that over the years I've become a bit tainted by the industry because I was looking for his hook, something other than the "I'm a rapper from Philly" angle. And I was busy trying to figure out the angle, I was totally lost on the fact that J.J. is basing his career on actual TALENT and not trying to trick people into liking him.

So, in the end, I must say it IS a very likable album. Give J.J. a listen!
