Los Angeles punk rock band DRIVE A is meant to be seen live. Currently wrapping a nationwide tour with Finnish heavyweights HIM, the foursome are revving up for a summer run on the Bamboozle Roadshow, kicking off May 21 in Washington D.C. (full tour itinerary below). Also on the tour are All Time Low, Boys Like Girls, LMFAO, Third Eye Blind, among others. Tickets are on-sale now at Ticketmaster.com.
In a review from a recent tour stop in Vancouver, Jamie Taylor described the energy transmitting from the stage: “The moment they stepped before the horde, they were on fire. The lead singer is like a Tasmanian devil, shooting around wrapped in pure chaos. The bassist and axe man leapt in the air constantly through the set. Everything about this act is powerful and assiduous, they are raw punk…Drive-A is a mass explosion of punk chaos.” (Vancouver Concert Addicts, April 18, 2010)
DRIVE A--lead singer/guitarist Bruno Mascolo, guitarist Jason Nott, bassist Taylor Knowles and drummer Cody Root--turned heads with their 2009 debut album Loss Of Desire (Adrenaline/Dead Conflict). They have amped things up further with a limited edition three-song bonus disc--featuring covers of The Clash’s “White Riot” and The Buzzcocks “What Do I Get” as well as a live version of album track “Are You Blind?”--currently bundled with copies of Loss Of Desire exclusively at FYE stores nationwide and at their shows.
A new exclusive track “Take A Side” is also currently available to fans free by signing up for the DRIVE A mailing list via their website: http://www.drivearock.com/. The guys recently put together a video for the song which gives a glimpse into their live show experience: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9e0nDwo2PSc.
DRIVE A has been on the road for the last few years fairly consistently and that will remain throughout the end of 2010. Having previously toured with the likes of The Used, Alkaline Trio, Four Year Strong and Set Your Goals, they continue to electrify audiences with their pure, raw energy.
“We're looking forward to playing in front of a new audience on the Bamboozle Roadshow,” says MASCOLO. “Don’t expect any auto tune or hair straighteners. We've come to play our asses off, not play dress up.”
