Review Tuesday: Purple Tree

Here's a band on the lighter side of rock called Purple Tree.

Without even looking at their list of influences, you can easily detect the Beatles feel to the music. I'll be honest here, I first tried giving them a listen during tax season when I was at wit's end and I had no patience for these songs. Admittedly, I'm not a Beatles fan, and that didn't bode well for these guys at that moment of time.

Now, however, I'm in a much better state and was able to listen to the songs in a meaningful way. The vocals are smooth and pleasant. The musicians are all very talented. the production is well done: just the right amount of reverb, and no one overpowering the others in levels. Just good clean recordings that are worth your time to listen to. I'm glad I took the time to give Purple Tree a second chance!
