INTERVIEW WITH POWERSOLO!!!!

1. Can you give our readers a brief introduction to the band, for those who are unfamiliar with Powersolo. How did you form?
kim kix- powersolo is: The Atomic Child (baritone guitar) and Kim Kix (guitar and singing) + live drummer Ritchie Attack. PowerSolo was, sort of, formed in 1996... and then again not really... well the name PowerSolo was used for the first time... by me! It was a one-man-band back then... then in 98 my brother Bo joined and started banging a drum. In 2001 we released our first record: Lemon Half Moon

2. You grew up in Tunisia and then returned to Denmark; did that have an impact on the kind of music you make today?
kim kix- I was born there in 1971 and we moved back to Tunisia in 1981 and lived there till 1988. I guess later on in our lives we discovered that we actually used much of that energy there is in northern African music, especially the beat and the tone. Arabian music is very beautiful, dramatic and tense in a way no other music in the world is. I remember watching these 7-8 piece bands playing for hours and hours at weddings. Then one of the drummers would be so exhausted that he'd crawl off stage and another would replace him. It was hallucinating! We used that feeling in MURDER IN SFAX on Bloodskinbones for example.

3. Let’s talk about the latest album, Bloodskinbones, how did you come up with the name?
kim kix- we wanted to cut this record to the bone! -It pretty much explains it all I think... blood is red, bones are white and the skinny bros are mutherfuggin DYNAMITE!

4. How do you guys normally write your songs?
kim kix- I come up with a riff or a melody and I usually have some words for it even before I have an actual idea. Then Bo adds drums, bass or whatever needed? we both play different instruments -so it's whoever has the best idea. But it usually starts one guitar and a beat.

5. What song from Bloodskinbones is most exciting to play live?
kim kix- I like to play "Pirates of the Oblivion" a lot, but at the moment "MURDER IN SFAX" is my favorite I think.. it's soo exhausting to play and it's a -give 200% song! sometimes sooo hard that it ends up sounding awful ha ha ha ha

6. You have toured extensively throughout Europe as well as the United States; What are the major differences touring in Europe as opposed to the U.S.?
kim kix- Drives are shorter in Europe! No seriously. Most Europeans look your way,at the US. It's like whatever was ever invented in Europe, was taken to the US and then pumped on steroids and painted pink! ha ha.. I like European culture and history. It's important to know about the past and all... every European country is different. The food, the weather, the geographic, the language... it's so united and then it's sooo divided. I like the US and it's people for their brave hearted will to fight for the man. it's like that in your music, politics and way of being. I mean there's bullshit all over the world, but who cares about the bullshit???! We make more money touring in the EU and less in the US.... but you also pay to get a movie ticket. I like the dream! ha ha ha POWERSOLO LOVES THE U.S.A !

7. What do you think the best part of touring is?
kim kix- all the bullshit talk ha ha ha -all the fun!! the people you meet, the new bands you hear the new air you breathe.

8. I have to ask, what is the story behind the album cover?
kim kix- we have interesting bodies! WHY THE HELL NOT SHOW IT!!!

9. What is next for Powersolo; do you plan on returning to the U.S. to promote your album in the near future?
kim kix- we want to come back after summer. If everything including luck happens like we expect it to do......? we have the money to invest in another crazy trip.... then will come back in the fall. We'll do EU may tour in France, Germany and Switzerland, then after that we'll start finishing the fifth PowerSolo record. It's gonna be the most evil record ever made!

muschos gracias
la forca del solo
