Here's a monster movie from Korea called Gwoemul, but the international title is The Host. It was highly recommended to me, so I got it. A white man doesn't care about the environment so he forces his lab assistant to pour a bunch of illegal chemicals down the drain. Those white people, they never care about the planet. So it causes a mutation of some creature that eventually grows into a man-eating monster.
The special effects, and the monster are pretty cool. But the story and the one family the movie focuses in on are drawn out and boring. I think that if they trimmed about half an hour from it's 119 minutes the movie would've benefited. I mean, it's painful as they try to fill up the time. The characters aren't even likable. In fact, I was cheering the monster on as it killed people, just to get them off the screen. Oh, and the cops and military are clueless, citizens have to rid the world of the menace.
I lost interest about halfway in. There's not enough meat and too much filler. It might be fun to watch for the monster scenes, but scan through the rest of it. Don't waste your time.
