A baby pic of Lord Tyrannus, a red ear slider, not Neytiri
Could you throw your pet baby turtle in the trash just to get on your your flight?
Read the article about how a little girl held up an entire plane full of people because she (and her folks) didn't check airline policy before boarding a flight with a reptile:

You should wash you hands after touching ANY animal, especially a human. Gross! They carry the MOST human diseases. They should be banned from flights!

Good point Bob! Yeah, my wife and I saw this in the news and couldn't believe it. It kinda says something about our culture - every thing is disposable if it's not convenient to us, even small animals - sad. If these people had pet turtles of their own, I think they might think differently. We couldn't imagine the day our Gam goes to the "big pond in the sky" (as Kris jokingly puts it).
I consider this news item disturbing from both perspectives.
1. The Airline was inconsistent in enforcement of it's policy. The family was different answers from different people. Get it straight before the passenger goes beyond the point of no return!
2. The child was more than willing to dump the turtle in the trash rather than wait for the parents, and a later flight, to be sure the turtle was taken care of.
I wouldn't worry about Gam. He's well cared for. He might outlive you both. I know I made a provision for my turtles in my will.
