On DVD: My Life In Ruins

Who hasn't seen MY BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING? It seems to be required for brawds, especially Greeks, so I not only saw it, but LIVED it. That aside, the same concept about being a Greek woman finding her dream man, with the same STAR, Nia Vardalos.

Georgia (Nia) is an American who's cynical about relationships because she had recently suffered a break-up and ended up doing tours in Greece. So she learns about life and love, on this particular tour, from an old bitter man (Richard Dreyfuss) and the very strangely named bus driver, Poupi Kakas (Alexis Georgoulis).

The rest of the film is just typical chick-flick bullshit. Doesn't want to fall in love. Falls in love with the wrong guy, then the right guy. Blah blah blah. The only interesting part was the ancient Greek history, architecture and art. The rest was mind-numbing and typical. At least give us a hot chick to star in a chick flick, please.
