Review Tuesday - In the cinema: Splice

SpliceI should've posted this a long time ago, but it's nearly due on DVD, so why not?

Splice is a science fiction horror movie that's a warning about how far is TOO far when it comes to genetic engineering. Clive and Elsa (Adrien Brody and Sarah Polley) are a couple of scientists on a project trying to derive proteins from genetically engineered creatures in hopes of finding cures for various ailments. When Elsa decides to take the next step, adding human DNA into the mix, they end up creating a new life form that grows at a fantastic rate. It goes through the equivalent of years in days and matures into a very pretty girl. That's when all hell starts to break loose. I won't even mention anything that comes after that. It's shocking, then the ending punches you in teh gut.

Great movie and a lot of fun to watch, although nearly impossible to do so at times. An innovative sci-fi thriller! WATCH IT if you have a strong stomach!
