I heard about this on the news. A gator was found and captured by Astoria Park in Queens, NY. Officially several alligators are found in NY annually and they are captured alive and moved to a safer place for both man and beast. This happens because people buy baby gators down south because they are so cute and bring them north as pets until the animals get too big to be cute anymore. This one was 20 inches.

That would've been a cool story, but nah. Someone probably just dropped it off at the park. They found it sleeping under a car.
Insane! We've had that issue with snakehead fish out this way, though they're nothing compared to gators. Seriously, what are people thinking?!
