On DVD: L.A. Story

L.A. StoryA friend asked if I could track this movie down, L.A. Story, and after 15 seconds on eBay I snagged a copy. That was hard. But before I handed it over I sat and watched it. Shockingly, I had never seen it all the way through previously!

This movie is from 1991, so it seems almost like a different world. Obviously, it takes place in Los Angeles and revolves around a local weatherman named Harris K. Telemacher, played brilliantly by Steve Martin. The movie is a satire about how odd life is in L.A.

The entire cast is perfect, the script is very clever, and it's a comedy that's actually FUNNY. Imagine that? But then again, this is Steve Martin at the peak of his comedic powers, so you know it's absurdly hilarious.

If you haven't had the time to watch L.A. Story, you must. It's a comedy from a better age in Hollywood.
