On DVD: My Life In Ruins
Who hasn't seen MY BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING? It seems to be required for brawds, especially Greeks, so I not only saw it, but LIVED it. That aside, the same concept about being a Greek woman finding her dream man, with the same STAR, Nia Vardalos. Georgia (Nia) is an American who's cynical about relationships because she had recently suffered a break-up and ended up doing tours in Greece. So she learns about life and love, on this particular tour, from an old bitter man (Richard Dreyfuss) and the very strangely named bus driver, Poupi Kakas (Alexis Georgoulis).
The rest of the film is just typical chick-flick bullshit. Doesn't want to fall in love. Falls in love with the wrong guy, then the right guy. Blah blah blah. The only interesting part was the ancient Greek history, architecture and art. The rest was mind-numbing and typical. At least give us a hot chick to star in a chick flick, please.

Review Tuesday: On CD - Sinner Or a Saint by Tamar Kaprelian
Press releases for this singer, Tamar Kaprelian, came across my desk recently and I was curious if a girl this cute can actually sing so I requested the tracks.I usually prefer to go into anything with no expectations because you're never disappointed, but I had braced myself for the worst. Instead, I was pleasantly surprised. The music is well produced and her voice is sweet and a perfect fit.

Read the rest of this article:Joy Division were an English rock band formed in 1976 in Salford, Greater Manchester. The band, primarily consisting of Ian Curtis (vocals and occasional guitar), Bernard Sumner (guitar and keyboards), Peter Hook (bass guitar and backing vocals) and Stephen Morris (drums and percussion), rapidly evolved from their initial punk rock influences to develop a sound and style that pioneered the post-punk movement of the late 1970s. Their self-released 1978 debut EP, An Ideal for Living, caught the attention of the Manchester television personality Tony Wilson. Their debut album, Unknown Pleasures, was released in 1979 on Wilson's independent record label Factory Records and drew critical acclaim. Despite the band's growing success, Curtis was beset with depression and personal difficulties, including a dissolving marriage and his diagnosis with epilepsy. He found it increasingly difficult to perform at live concerts, and often had seizures during performances. On the eve of the band's first American tour in 1980, Curtis, overwhelmed with depression, committed suicide. Joy Division's posthumously released second album, Closer, and the single "Love Will Tear Us Apart" became the band's highest charting releases. After the death of Curtis, the remaining members reformed as New Order, achieving critical and commercial success.

Spacehog, the English rock band comprised of brothers Royston Langdon (Vocals and Bass Guitar) and Anthony Langdon (Guitar and Vocals), Jonny Cragg, (Drums) and Richard Steel (Lead Guitar) will be reuniting to play a select number of tour dates which can be seen below. The band, heavily influenced by David Bowie, Queen, and T.Rex, is known for their legendary concerts in the East Village and creating their own genre of sound by colliding their influences with a wall of distorted guitars daring vocals.
The band’s debut album, Resident Alien, went gold on the Billboard charts, selling a million copies and spawned the hit single and video "In the Meantime" as well as the single "Cruel To Be Kind".
It’s been 9 years since Spacehog have come together. The group has begun working on their yet to be titled fourth album with Bryce Goggin (Ramones, Phish). The evolved sound can only be described as epic and revolutionary for the band.
