Two shows in two weeks. We're on a roll! This week I got tickets at the last minute for The Importance of Being Earnest at the American Airlines Theater in Times Square.
If you're not aware, The Importance of Being Earnest is a play written by Oscar Wilde. It was first performed 1895, and was published in 1899.
In a nutshell, two men get tangled in their own web of lies around the name Ernest. As you can imagine, comedy and mayhem ensue.
The cast is brilliant, although not loud enough at parts. Some words get muddled, but is still retrievable.
While the ending is COMPLETELY predictable, it was fun to see how they got there.
A lot of fun, provided you can understand SAT words spoken with an English accent. Oh, and that's a MAN BABY!
