Twin Atlantic have just premiered a live performance of the song "Time For You To Stand Up" from their recent sold-out home town performance at the O2 Academy in Glasgow, Scotland. The band reflected on the sold out performance, "It was a dream come true. I drive past that venue every day on the way to the studio in Glasgow, and I've passed it on the train at least once a week all my adult life. I always looked at the band names hung above the doors, so that makes it pretty special."
The band just wrapped up a West Coast tour with rising California favorites PK and will be performing at SXSW in Austin this week. The band will also be hitting the road on the Vans Warped Tour this Summer.
Twin Atlantic will be releasing their debut album Free stateside on March 13th. Free was recorded in Santa Monica and produced by Gil Norton (Pixies, Echo And The Bunnymen, Foo Fighters, Jimmy Eat World). The album was released in the 2011 in the UK and resulted in iTunes UK naming them Best New Rock Artist of the Year. Free was the UK’s best selling independent British rock album of 2011, hitting #1 on iTunes Rock albums charts and #4 on Scottish albums.
Their first single "Free" was recently most added at Alternative radio and the official video has been added to mtvU and was recently featured on MTV Iggy.
Powered by premier online music creation site Indaba Music (http://www.indabamusic.com/), the band have launched the Twin Atlantic Remix Competition which calls for participants to create their own musical rendition of the band’s hit single “Free.” One Grand Prize Winner will have their remix featured on an official release by Red Bull Records and will also receive a $1,000 cash prize, a pair of Beats by Dre headphones, and promotion on Twin Atlantic and Red Bull Records web properties. One Popular Vote Winner will receive $500 and a pair of Beats by Dre headphones, and two Honorable Mentions will receive a pair of Beats by Dre headphones.
Indaba’s 650,000-strong community of musicians will have until Monday, April 2, to submit their remixes, and fans will be able to vote for their favorite through Monday, April 16. The winners will be announced on Monday, April 30.
