Review Tuesday: The Road To Gandalfo by Robert Ludlum

I'm a big fan of the writing of Robert Ludlum. He's best known for the Jason Bourne trilogy, but wrote dozens of other delightfully fast-paced books. This one, THE ROAD TO GANDALFO, is a clever conspiracy novel.

When a decorated American General, Mackenzie Hawkins, bum-rushed out of the military, he hatches a scheme to make a cool $400 mill by kidnapping the Pope!

The story is SO absurd, but the characters are so likable that it compels you to read this book. Between the conspiracy and humor of it all, you're riveted!

This, to me, is a departure from Ludlum's usual very serious and dark conspiracy writing. All his usual technical data, paranoia, and clandestine goodies are in there, but bundled together with sex and humor makes it a winner. Definitely worth reading!
