Review Tuesday: CLARA BELLINO - This is Happiness

Anytime I have a chance to get an advance copy of ANYTHING for review, I jump at it! I was offered THIS IS HAPPINESS by CLARA BELLINO a couple months ago, and wanted to give it a shot.

This CD is a five song EP containing two versions of both THIS IS HAPPINESS and HAND IN HAND separated by the song DRIFTWOOD. The music is smooth, relaxing and jazzy. It's become the soundtrack for my tax-season this year as it is soothing no matter what chaos is going on in the office.

Clara's voice is pretty, sweet, and perfectly in tune with the music. She's also surrounded herself with a team of excellent musicians and they all team up to compliment each other perfectly. The production is slick and crystal clear with all levels set just perfectly.

This is not the kind of music I generally choose to listen to, but I found it very pleasant and enjoyable and would highly recommend this record for ANYONE. Additionally, there are various extras on the CD to make it even more fun, like videos, documentary and Clara teaming up with Bobby Sharp (who wrote Unchain My Heart),  in a duet. Give it a listen!
