Hurricane Sandy

Since I write most of my blog well in advance, you may not have noticed that your humble narrator has been without power since Monday! Hurricane Sandy was doing her worst to New York's Long Island on Monday evening and we were sitting watching all the news about it on television when everything went dark. Since then we've been trying to deal with this situation.

Long Island suffered 93% power loss, which is unacceptable in my book.

I tried to get to work yesterday. After sitting in traffic for over three hours and making little progress, I turned back. Today some subway service was restored and I was sitting at my desk by 8:20.

There's much to be done once power comes back on. More than anything, I'm concerned about my turtles sitting in the cold darkness. Their lives have been awful since we lost power. Poor little guys.
