Despite a precipitous drop-off, THE HOBBIT clung to the #1 spot for another week. The new Tom Cruise action movie, JACK REACHER tanked in second place with a mere $15.6 mill. The other new offering, THIS IS 40, took the #3 spot with only $12 mill.
