Victory over Japan Day

From your humble narrator, 08/14/2010:

I'm not a fan of the name V-J day. It was the Victory over Japan. Those cowardly bastards sneak attacked Pearl Harbor and were willing to fight to the last man to advance their imperialism of the Pacific. So President Truman figured, "To the last man, huh?" and evaporated two Japanese cities in atomic mushroom clouds. Had he not done that thousand, tens of thousands, maybe HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of American soldiers would've died in continued fighting in the Pacific. It was a hard decision, but the RIGHT decision to bring the war to a fast end. Victory over the aggressions of Japan. Amen.
