Review Tuesday: FANBOYS (2009)

Not too long ago a friend of mine handed me this DVD and asked me to give it a shot. A movie about STAR WARS fanboys with Kristen Bell in it? Sure!

When a buddy is diagnosed with terminal cancer, the team rallies around him to get to see Star Wars Episode 1 before it was released.

There seems to be a writing team in Hollywood responsible for all the R-rated comedies of the last decade. Some of their more famous works would be SUPERBAD, THE 40 YEAR OLD VIRGIN, and most recently THIS IS THE END. One of their less famous offerings was FANBOYS. Staffed with their usual bunch of no-names and ugly dudes and the one piece of eye candy being Kristen Bell.Their mission is to get their friend across the country to Skywalker Ranch to steal a copy of THE PHANTOM MENACE before it came out.

The movie is 90 minutes of nerd hijinks and mayhem. A ton of fun! Well worth watching!
