Review Tuesday: Red Riding Hood (2011)

I have been a fan of modern werewolf stories for years, but I steered clear of this version of RED RIDING HOOD for a while because it shares the same director as Twilight. However, a couple friends said it was worth watching so I gave in.
An old world town is terrorized by werewolf.
That is, perhaps, an over-simplification of the plot. As you would expect from the director of Twilight, this is a teenage love triangle that gets a sprinkling of werewolf violence. And that's the trouble, while the werewolf scenes are pretty well done with good special effects and violence, there's way too little of it. There are long spans of dull love story and you almost scream for something, ANYTHING, to happen. I felt like the the talents of Gary Oldman and Amanda Seyfried were wasted.

Dull but watchable.
