Review Tuesday: Everville by Clive Barker

EVERVILLE
by Clive Barker

This is the second book of The Art by Clive Barker and it was released in 1994.
All roads lead to Everville after a series of events leads to a showdown between worlds.
While the previous book took a while to get rolling, this book starts off with an outstanding beginning. It's charming, delightful, nail-biting and drags you in!

Unfortunately, I felt that the book loses direction after that. There are some key plot-lines that definitely keeps your attention but others merely seem like page filler, or devices tossed in for convenience. The story goes berserk, you endure about five endings, then the pages cease and you're left wondering, what did I just read?

I'll call this mediocre at best.

Now for the kicker. This is book TWO of a trilogy. It was released in 1994. More than twenty years has elapsed and no part three is on the horizon. Seriously Clive? Wtf?
