Sterling Fox Releases "Freak Caroline" Music Video

"Visually enticing and chock-full of vibrant colors, psychedelic shots and hypnotic movements" - The Wild Honey Pie

New York-based recording artist and songwriter Sterling Fox released yesterday the music video for "Freak Caroline." The video premiered exclusively on The Wild Honey Pie and now is available on Fox's official YouTube.

The video "begins as a chic, Bond-influenced series of shots," says Fox, "that eventually deteriorates into an all-out fisheye filled 90s band performance." The Wild Honey Pie points out that the video is "visually enticing and chock-full of vibrant colors, psychedelic shots and hypnotic movements." The unique style and creative approach is Fox's way of kicking it "back to a bygone era of just having fun and playing in a band," citing "bratty rock and pop punk of yore" as visual influences.

Prior to releasing his own music, Sterling was an accomplished ghostwriter, having worked with Lana Del Rey, Adam Levine, Avicii, Madonna and others. The records he has worked on have sold more than 12 million copies.

With "Freak Caroline," however, Sterling is no longer writing for the celebrity artists, but rather has ventured into the unfamiliar territory of writing about them. The song is "loosely based on people I've worked with or written for," Sterling told Interview Magazine. It is "a reaction to their narcissism" and inability to have "anything real or meaningful to say about the world." You can stream the single on Fox's official Soundcloud.
