Spring Tour w/ MAYDAY Starts Today!
April 20, 2015 (New York, NY) – Today marks a BIG day for alt-rockers DIRTY HEADS as they kick off their headline tour in Baton Rouge, LA with special guest, Miami-based hip-hop group MAYDAY. This morning, DIRTY HEADS will also be joining jam band Blues Traveler and Rome Ramirez of Sublime on VH1 Big Morning Buzz Live, performing the first single “Castaway” off of Blues Traveler’s recently released album, Blow Up the Morning. Also on this 4/20 holiday, DIRTY HEAD’S own Dustin “Duddy B” Bushnell will be featured on popular music website,Diffuser, discussing his views on weed legalization.
In addition to their tour with MAYDAY, DIRTY HEADS will be heading out on a North American tour this summer, performing as direct support for fellow California rock band, SLIGHTLY STOOPID. "We're so excited to be hitting the road for a short run with Mayday starting on 4/20 and then our huge summer tour with Slightly Stoopid and The Expendables! It's going to be amazing. Make sure to upgrade your ticket to VIP to get some exclusive DH items, and of course the chance to meet us before the show! VIP link here: http://dirtyheads.groundctrl.net/events/.”
Formed in 2003 out of Huntington Beach, CA, DIRTY HEADS is made up of front man Jared (Dirty J) Watson, vocalist/guitarist Dustin Bushnell (Duddy B) keyboardist/vocalist Shawn Hagood, percussionist Jon Olazabal, drummer Matt Ochoa and bassist David Foral.
The band’s second single/title track off their critically acclaimed album, Sound of Change has already been in the Top 30 on the Alt Radio charts. “Channeling the bass-heavy, reggae-inspired beats of their past while diving headfirst into a potentially chart-topping future, Dirty Heads capitalize on their ability to grow sonically while hitting the well-worn dance floor, says ESQUIRE Magazine.
The album boasts some of the groups’ most diverse and ambitious work to date, teaming up with Grammy award-winning producer Supa Dups (Nina Sky, Bruno Mars), Buddah Shampoo (Ty Dolla $ign), Niles (of hip-hop duo, The Cataracs), Ward 21 (311, Major Lazer reggae collaborators) and long-time friend and collaborator, Rome (Sublime).
