DIRTY HEADS INVITE FANS LOCALLY AND GLOBALLY TO BE THE ‘SOUND OF CHANGE’ ON WORLD HUNGER DAY

DIRTY HEADS INVITE FANS LOCALLY AND GLOBALLY TO BE THE ‘SOUND OF CHANGE’

ON WORLD HUNGER DAY - THURSDAY, MAY 28, 2015

To highlight World Hunger Day (5/28/15) on both a National and Local level, DIRTY HEADS have started two separate initiatives. The band’s national support of Oxfam America and their local work in the Las Vegas market – where their tour stops on 5/28.

To spread awareness across the country about the wrongs of global poverty, hunger and injustice, the band will kick off their partnership with Oxfam America on World Hunger Day. Oxfam America is a global organization that saves lives, develops long-term solutions to poverty, and campaigns for social change. Oxfam will launch http://www.oxfamamerica.org/dirtyheads and join the DIRTY HEADS in hashtag campaign on social media (#soundofchange) simultaneously, encouraging fans to spread the word! Fundraising for Oxfam will commence today via eBay Giving Works (http://givingworks.ebay.com/dirty-heads ). VIP upgrades and additional exclusive and signed DIRTY HEADS gear will be auctioned off to help further the great work Oxfam does all around the world. "Oxfam has a long history of working with great music artists to create social change. We're very excited that Dirty Heads are on our team" says Bob Ferguson, Oxfam America’s Creative Alliances & Music Outreach Manager.

On a local level, DIRTY HEADS will be playing x107.5’s OBC show in Las Vegas on May 28th and plan to make a stop in Sin City into a Mission of Mercy. In collaboration with The Cosmopolitan, X107.5 and Five Seven Music the band is requesting attendees to bring 1 non-perishable food item to the show in exchange for special DIRTY HEADS swag. The food will go to local organization Three Square Food Bank. Their work in nutrition assistance in Southern Nevada is helping the more than 315,000 residents who are food insecure. The organization works with a local service network of more than 1,300 community partners to help serve more than 137,000 individuals each month.

DIRTY HEADS’ latest single “Sound of Change” (from the album of the same name) was written to inspire people to make a change in the world. “We are so proud to be working with Oxfam and Three Square to address this important issue,” says vocalist Jared Watson. “DIRTY HEADS want to spread the word everywhere we go about the fact that individuals can be the Sound of Change for people in need.” As the band tours through the best of the US festivals and continues around the US with Slightly Stoopid, look out for their lauded live shows and heartfelt message on hunger.
