defenestrate \dee-FEN-uh-streyt\ verb
  • to throw (a person or thing) out of a window.
Origin: Defenestrate is a backformation of the noun defenestration, which entered the lexicon around 1618, when Bohemian insurgents in Prague threw two imperial regents and their secretary out of the windows of Hradčany (Prague Castle); this event is known as the Defenestration of Prague. Both of these terms derive from the Latin fenestra meaning "window."
