Review Tuesday: Aliens: The Official Movie Novelization by Alan Dean Foster

ALIENS
The Official Movie Novelization
by Alan Dean Foster
After the events of ALIEN, Ellen Ripley must to return to LV-426 after a colony there suddenly goes silent.
Based on the screenplay by James Cameron, Alan Dean Foster wrote another official science fiction movie novelization, this time for ALIENS, published in April 2014. Why so many years after the movie came out? I have no idea.

This book is almost exactly what you saw on the screen, only with a bunch of SAT words sprinkled in here and there to remind you that Alan Dean Foster must be a smart guy. The book included several scenes that were left out of the original theatrical release. It also provided some additional details that were either foggy or not even in the movie at all. Interestingly, some of the details that were changed in the novelization of ALIEN (reviewed HERE) were corrected in this book.

This action movie translated nicely into a suspenseful horror novel. I just couldn't put it down. Well done, and I highly recommend it to any fan of the ALIEN franchise.
