falderal \FAL-duh-ral\, noun:
1. mere nonsense; foolish talk or ideas.
2. a trifle; gimcrack; gew-gaw.
The word falderal imitates the sound of nonsense lyrics in songs. It came to English at the turn of the 18th century.
