Previously I was unfamiliar with this author and the RISEN WORLD thrillers, but based on the description and the fact that I could get a free copy in exchange for an honest review, I wanted to give it a try.

This book reminds me of the way Edgar Rice Burroughs wrote his books. Each chapter is a self contained tale of horror and they are all brought together in the final chapter. It's clever writing and fun / horrifying to read. You feel invested in the characters and think you have an idea where they are headed, then the rug is pulled out from beneath you.
