The Ethereal Squadron
A Wartime Fantasy
(The Sorcerers of Verdun Book 1)
by Shami Stovall
A team of sorcerers from the Allies must bring an end to the new brutal gas weapon being used by the Central Powers.
What if wars weren't merely the product of men, but of great sorcerers with fantastic abilities? This wasn't a genre I previously knew I needed to know more about, but now I DO!
You're running through the trenches with Geist as she faces a new horrible weapon being used by the enemy. Magic and Tech has been bound together in a brutal gas to destroy everything in it's path. Geist and her team need to steal the secret behind the tech so they can stand a chance and save millions of lives.
Excellent writing! spectacular character development. Exciting story. A variety of twists and turns to keep your attention. The pages flew by and I loved every single one. My only gripe? The cover of the book. Geist is a woman pretending to be a man so she can contribute to the war effort. I know caover art may embellish upon the source material, but bear in mind that NO ONE was able to tell that Geist was a woman until she let it be known. She was definitely NOT wearing eye shadow and mascara while running through the trenches or while out on spy missions.
