BLAIR WITCH
James goes into the Maryland woods looking for his sister after new footage turns up.
I was somewhat surprised when on one movie night at home Mrs. Bax0jayz had selected his movie to watch. She loves horror and loved the original film, but we were both let down by the sequel. I figured this wouldn't even be on the viewing list. This movie, however, is a direct sequel to the original 1999 film, THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT. It ignores the other sequel that came out shortly thereafter. This one goes back to the original formula of unpolished found footage style movie with unsteady hand cams videos.

YEARS after the events of the original, some new footage surfaces. James feels certain that included in the footage is is sister Heather. He gathers some friends and heads off to Maryland to meet the people who found the footage and arrange to go back into the woods to find his sister. Of course, once they do so, all hell breaks loose. All manner of creepy and unnatural things begin to happen.

After all these years, this sequel did a pretty good job. It recaptured what the original did, faithfully, while adding some more dimensions to the mystery and even answering some questions regarding the Blair Witch, herself. Indeed, you even get to see the beast! So, I would call this worthwhile for fans of the original flick.
