Review Tuesday: THE TALL MAN [2012]

The Tall Man

THE
TALL
MAN
When children go missing in a depressed town, hysteria erupts and the suspect is the one they would least expect with a motive no one would understand.
This was another surprise from Mrs Baxojayz. She said it looked scary and suspenseful, so she wanted to see it.

Right off the bat I'll tell you that this was NOT the movie we expected. It seems like, at first, there's someone or someTHING running off with all the children in a backwater town in a decline. The writing and direction is fairly clever because they purposely lead your attention in various directions and make you jump to incorrect conclusions.

The ending is something of a shock and pretty provocative. Again, I'll say this is NOT the movie you think it is, but maybe there is, truly, a monster at large. I suppose that is all up to your point of view. I thought this was pretty clever and memorable, plus Jessica Biel in the starring role was really easy on the eyes.
