Review Tuesday: JAY AND SILENT BOB REBOOT (2019)

Amazon.com: Jay And Silent Bob Reboot [Blu-ray]: Jason Mewes ...
JAY AND SILENT BOB
REBOOT
Jay and Silent Bob have to go cross country to stop production of a reboot based on them.
Jay and Silent Bob reboot their franchise in a movie about trying to prevent a reboot about them. If that's not enough, Kevin Smith CROWDFUNDED this endeavor, but I will get to that later.

In an age when Hollywood has run out of ideas, Kevin Smith decided to satire the concept of the remakes versus the reboots while making a reboot of his own franchise. In this film Jay and Silent Bob legally lose their names and have to cross the country to prevent the reboot of Bluntman and Chronic. It's a series of pot and dick jokes sewn together to get them from beginning to end. There are plenty of laughs along the way, but it's even more over-the-top absurd than ever. That's to be expected in a Kevin Smith comedy.

What's NOT expected was that Kevin Smith had to crowd-fund this project. Usually his films are fairly low budget, so what gives? I would call it worthwhile to watch if you enjoy the "CLERKS" movies and raunchy humor. Also expect to see nearly everyone who has ever been in a Kevin Smith film.
