Review Tuesday: Grace: The Possession (2014) Grace (original title)

The Possession
Grace (original title)
When Grace heads off to university, strange things begin to happen, causing her to question her own origins.
During the COVID19 quarantine, I worked from home most of teh time and as a result had evenings to do normal things like normal people. Mrs bax0jayz and I were able to watch a bunch of bad horror movies. This was one of them.

Grace is a beautiful, naive, and, extremely Christian, girl headed off to college. She was brought up by her stern grandmother because her mother was a sinner and died while giving birth to Grace. No information is provided about the father. Much to the chagrin of the grandmother, Grace would not be swayed, insisting upon going away to school. Almost immediately Grace is exposed to the wonders of college life. Friends, relationships, booze, boys, sex, and FUN! All the things she never experienced previously.

Of course, that was when strange things began to happen. Delusions. Hallucinations. Then came the big party at which Grace got drunk, experienced strange things, and finally passed out. She awoke in a hospital and her mother was on her way to bring her back home.

After the trip home was when everything falls into place. We find out who Grace really is, who her father was, and probably why she is being haunted / possessed by some demon.
The movie is a meandering road that leads to a WTF ending, and not really in a good way. I felt like there were many times in this movie that they purposely tried to misdirect you just so you can keep saying, Oh! Now I see! Meh.

I would call this movie OKAY. The special effects were okay. Character development was okay. Concept was pretty good, but the execution and ending left much to be desired. Actually, the ending caused me to facepalm, because it just seemed kinda dumb. But I'll tell you that Alexia May who played Grace and her mom Mary did a pretty good job and she is really pleasant to look at.
