REVIEW TUESDAY: 13 Cameras (2015) and 14 Cameras (2018)

aka SLUMLORD
(2015)
A young couple rents a home from a Peeping Tom.
Mrs Bax0jayz came up with this for movie night. It was listed as horror and teh trailer looked creepy so she wanted to see it.

A good-looking young couple decided to rent a nice house in a nice part of California from some troglodytic dude. It turns out that he, Gerald (played by Neville Archambault)  had a hidden room in the basement and hidden cameras all over the place. So while the couple went about their lives, he was watching every detail intently.

Of course everything goes bonkers and SOMEHOW this degenerate landlord covers up his tracks and gets away with multiple crimes. This movie is FUBAR and gives you anxiety. Watch ti at your own risk.

A young family rents a house from a Peeping Tom who is STREAMING their every move.
Great. After watching the first movie I found out there was a SEQUEL. All I had to do was mention it to Mrs. Bax0jayz and she wanted to see what can they possibly do next?

Yes. The sequel was our worst nightmare. One of the things we contemplate when we go on vacation and use AirBNB, VRBO, or other similar services that you rent someone's home for a short duration; what if the owner is a Peeping Tom and has the place all cammed out? Well, the degenerate, Gerald, is back for more FUBAR cringe.

It's not bad enough that HE'S peeping on his renters, but he's STREAMING all fourteen cameras to other degenerates on the black web. PLUS there's the angle that you see what happens to some of his KIDNAP VICTIMS.

Ugh.

This movie plays into so many irrational fears that the wife actually said that she's not sure if she's willing to book an AirBNB ever again. The one GOOD thing is that Neville Archambault, who plays Gerald, died and can't reprise the role.
