Miracle on 34th Street
(1947)
Is a Macy's Santa the real deal?
I was trying to figure out something holiday related to watch with Mrs Bax0jayz and we agreed on this Christmas Classic. We selected it largely because neither of us could remember ever watching it in its entirety...

A kindly old gentleman named Kris Kringle gets a job as a Santa for Macy's for the Christmas Season. He does an excellent job of it until he assaults a coworker who is making a presentation that Santa Claus doesn't exist. The rest of the film is about Kris proving that he is indeed Santa Claus in a film full of all sorts of Christmas magic.

There's a reason why some movies are THE CLASSICS. This is a delightfully charming movie that is really about warming up and bringing together a family with the Christmas Spirit. The assault part doesn't line up very well with modern sensibilities, but it was a vehicle to get to where they needed to.

If you haven't seen this original version, I would recommend doing so.
