ben moody, dj, load, on her face, quote

I was checking my hit stats today when I noticed someone found their way to this blog with this search:

I knew right away what this person was looking for, but I don't remember recounting the tale.

Before Evanescence hit it big, they played a 92 cent show presented by 92.3 K-Rock. They did that every so often to introduce new acts to the masses at a very reasonable price. I loved Amy Lee's voice from the first time I heard it, and my wife really want to see them. So we were among the lucky few who were able to land tickets for the show at Webster Hall, NYC.

There were about three or four bands taking the stage that night. Before each act a K-Rock DJ would come out and make an announcement about who was up next and to plug the station.

The only other act I remember that night was Trapt. They pretty much sucked. Their sound was seriously off and were thoroughly NOT entertaining to watch. Plus a heavy metal singer who reminds you too much of Marc Anthony, both in look and sound, doesn't suit the band.

Anyway, it was getting to be time for Evanescence to come out on stage. The Disc Jockey, Maze if I remember correctly, came out to announce the band. "A lot of people have been wondering what Amy really looks like because you really can't tell from the album. Well, let me tell you she's so hot she's a double yanker," as he gestured like he was beating his balogney. Then he introduced the band and they came out to play. I must say, on that night Amy looked the best I have ever seen her. She was dressed in tight black clothes and looked really sexy. Plus her voice was perfect live, just like the record. The entire band sounded fine too. They had a good mix.

Then days later there were all these stories going around that Amy Lee was mortified because a New York DJ from K-Rock said he wanted to rock his beef and splooge all over her face. I was at that show. I heard what he said. He did NOT say that. To THIS DAY she STILL maintains that this guy, who got fired because of her, said this vulgar thing that NEVER occurred. If anything, it was more of a compliment of sorts, and more than she deserved as she seems to have fallen apart at the seams since then.
