Underworld: Evolution - Spoilers!!!

Okay, I read the book. I know the entire story. I'll be eluding to some details from the movie in posts about the cast from Underworld, but this will the fire and brimstone post. I'm about to divulge the ENTIRE STORY. So if you want to be surprised, skip this post.

***UNDERWORLD: EVOLUTION SPOILERS!!!***

The movie starts up with not ONE but TWO flashback sequences

1. The first is the scenario described in the first movie about how Selene's family is killed and Viktor makes her a vampire.
2. Second, the three Vampiric Elders lead an army of Death Dealers into a destroyed town. The dead begin to rise as werewolves, far more dangerous and feral than the ones from the first movie. It appears they are the product of the first werewolf, William Corvinus, brother of Marcus. The Death Dealers, led by Viktor and Amelia track down and trap William to keep him from spreading his plague throughout the world.

When the movie goes back to "present day" it picks up right after the first movie. Selene and Michael are escaping the vampires and lycans into the woods.

Kraven heads back to Ordoghaz to kill the slumbering Marcus, the only remaining Elder so take control of the coven. By this time Marcus has already been awakened as a hybrid by Singe's blood. Marcus arises from his tomb as a hideous man-bat creature and kills the team with Kraven. Marcus then drains Kraven's body of all his blood for his memories. Marcus destroys Kraven's body and sets the mansion on fire killing everyone in the coven. If you are an Erika fan, you won't be happy.

The cleaners are introduced. They are the ones who pick up the pieces left behind after clashes between the vamps and lycans. They are under the command of the original immortal, Alexander Corvinus. He's watching what his immortal descendants are doing to eachother and the world. Afterall, he spawned William - the first lycan, and Marcus - the first vampire.

Marcus is after Selene and Michael because they are in possession of Sonja's pendant, which Lucian carried for centuries after her death. It turns out that it's part of a key to the cell that holds William Corvinus. The other part of the key was hidden IN Viktor's body to keep it away from Marcus at all costs. If William was ever unleashed it could mean the worst plague known to the planet.

Selene and Michael finally get to solidify their relationship by making love. Whether or not there is any nudity, I don't know. [It does seem that this could possibly lead to a hybrid child and another movie. That seems to be the question.]

Looking for information Selene and Michael meet up with Tanis, the former coven historian. He's involved in a blood orgy when the visitors arrive. So, NO, it's not Kate Beckinsale in the lesbian kiss in the commercials, it's Tanis' two lady friends. Tanis will tell Selene why her family was killed. Her father built the dungeon that would hold William Corvinus. So to silence the family, Viktor killed them all. Tanis then sends them to Alexander Corvinus for help.

Marcus catches up with Tanis after Selene and Michael depart. It's assumed that Marcus takes his memories and kills Tanis like he did with Kraven.

Marcus catches up with Selene and Michael at the ship the Cleaners use. He attacks the ship and carries off Michael. They battle (this will be the second time) and Marcus kills Michael and takes the pendant. He steals Selene's memories through her blood to find the location of the dungeon holding William. Marcus goes back to the ship for the other part of the key, and in doing so fatally stabs his own father.

Selene goes back to the ship. In his dying moments Alexander implores her to drink his blood so she may have a chance of defeating Marcus before he can liberate William. She does so and she departs in a helicopter with the last team of Cleaners left as well as Michael's body so she can give him a proper burial.

By the time they arrive at the ruins that were once Viktor's castle, Marcus had already released William. William ultimately kills the team of Cleaners who go into the castle with Selene. Magically, Michael is resurrected. [His hybrid blood allows him tremendous regeneration capabilities.] The cleaners come back to life as zombie like werewolves. Selene and Michael kill them off in time for Marcus to show up again. Marcus pulls down the helicopter and it crashes. Selene and Marcus square off as Michael and William battle it out. Michael kills William by drowning him in his own blood after breaking off his snout. Ouch! Selene takes out Marcus by backing him into the still spinning rotor of the helicopter.

At this time the sun is rising, but it's rays no longer effect Selene. She is the future of immortality.

But where does this lead? Is there new life growing within her womb? What about the other vampires and lycans out there? With ALL the elders gone, who / what can a third movie be about. I kinda have little faith that there will be a part three even though the word when Underworld came out that it would be a trilogy. Maybe they'll delve into Amelia's past next time around?
