In the cinema: Paranormal Activity 2

If there's anything in the world that Mrs. Bax0jayz enjoys, it's a good fright. After seeing the original, she was really down to see Paranormal Activity 2.

In a way, this movie is both a prequel and a sequel to the original Paranormal Activity. It revolves around the family of the sister (Kristi) of the star from the first movie, Katie. The movie documents how something out-of-the-ordinary is going on in a family home from the time their son, Hunter, is born. This takes place starting from about two months before the original movie and shows the strange happenings until the part where the first movie begins. Then it goes and gives you some insight into what happened after the first movie.

The movie got off to a slow start and you really wonder if all the footage is really necessary. But once the haunting gets started, you're kept on the edge of your seat with suspense for the rest of the film.

They do a good job with build-up and scaring you into jumping at anything. Plus it is very satisfying as it answers a lot of questions left open after the original.

It was fun to watch on the big screen, but would probably be just as good at home when it comes out on DVD. A good scare if you like that stuff!
