LUCKY
When a 90 year old man faces his mortality, he finally breaks free from being a miserable old bastard.
The official synopses call this a journey of enlightenment. However, I prefer my summary.
Harry Dean Stanton is an unlikely lead-man as LUCKY in this ninety minute film. Basically you follow Lucky through what starts as the worst week of his life and ends up as possibly the most rewarding week in years. His rigid surliness makes him endearing to his friends, but he relaxes this facade after an unexplainable episode of passing out.
It's not a horror film. It's not action packed. It's not suspenseful. It is, however, compelling to watch. It's like a train wreck, you can't look away, but not in a bad way.
I found this strangely entertaining and worthwhile to watch.
