Review Tuesday: DUNKIRK (2017)

DUNKIRK

2017

The harrowing story of the Allied retreat from the beach of Dunkirk.

I don't know why but when this movie came out I had ZERO interest in seeing it.However, since I had seem several other war movies during 2023, and this was an inflight movie, why not?

My summary line is pretty much the whole story. The city is surrounded. The British troops are evacuating. This movie is about that evacuation from several different perspectives.

Okay, there you go. It's a retreat from different perspectives and times and all timelines diverge into one for the final sequences. The movie is good and all, but for a film that ran under two hours it felt way longer. Looks great. Nicely polished. It just felt like it went on forever.
